What is Burner Mail?

Burner Mail provides free, instant, and disposable email addresses. No signup or passwords are required—just pick a prefix and start receiving mail. It’s perfect for protecting your primary inbox from spam when signing up for temporary services or verifying accounts.

Is it safe to open sketchy emails here?

Yes. We prioritize your safety by using a "Security Sandbox" for every email. All incoming messages are rendered inside a hardened iframe with strict sandbox attributes. This prevents malicious scripts from running, blocks tracking pixels, and isolates the email content from the rest of your browser, acting as a digital bio-hazard suit for your computer.

How long do emails last?

Every email is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers 30 minutes after it is received. If you want to disappear sooner, you can use the "Nuke" button to instantly wipe your entire inbox, or delete individual emails manually.

How many email address possibilities are there?

Our random generator uses a combination of an adjective, a noun, and a 4-digit number (e.g., amber-owl-1234). This creates over 111,834,000 unique prefixes. Additionally, you can choose any custom prefix you like between 8 and 64 characters, making the total possibilities virtually infinite.

Can I block spam senders?

Yes. If you receive unwanted mail, you can block the specific sender or their entire domain directly from the email view. You can manage your active blocks via the "Blocked" button in your inbox.

Wait, there’s no password?

Correct. Burner Mail addresses are public by nature. Anyone who knows your prefix can view that inbox. This is why we recommend using the random generator and never using a burner address for sensitive, private, or high-value accounts (like your bank or primary social media).

What does "Remember my addresses" do?

If you enable this toggle, we save a list of your 10 most recently used burner addresses in your browser's Local Storage. This makes it easy to jump back into a recently used inbox if you accidentally close the tab. This data stays only on your device and is never sent to our servers. Do not use this feature on shared or public computers.

How does Burner Mail stay free?

We display a few non-intrusive advertisements to cover the costs of running the servers. We do not sell your data or analyze your email content.
